Seedlings (grown from seed).
These are husky-growing, flowering size plants in 4” pots. Know as the “Toothbrush Orchid” as it produces short, stiff spikes covered in small pink flowers (that all face one direction) on leafless canes. A species native to several Southeast Asian countries, it is semi-deciduous and likes bright, dry, warm to hot conditions. We have flowered a handful of plants from this grex and have seen some lovely soft pink color forms. Photo #1 shows the flowers of the typical “pink” form; Photo #2 shows an example of the size plants offered for sale.
Please note that these are seedlings and that there can be quite a bit of variability between plants (even with the same parents).
We grow these in our “Cattleya house” where they get medium to bright filtered light (2,500-3,000 foot-candles) and are watered when the media dries. These may be grown in pots/baskets or mounted.
