Broughtonia cubensis
Seedlings (grown from seed).
Rare, hard to find Cuban species that is very compact growing and can flower on extremely small plants (even when still in a compot). These are flowering size and were recently mounted on tree fern rafts and already have new roots attaching to the mount. Flowers in late Winter to Spring. Photo #’s 1-2 show the flowers of the species. Photo #3 shows an example of the size plants offered for sale. VERY LIMITED and slow growing, we have been waiting a long time to be able to offer these for sale!
We grow these hanging in our “Cattleya house” where they get medium to bright filtered light (2,500-3,000 foot-candles) and are watered when the mount dries. These are best grown mounted.
PLEASE FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH OUR SHIPPING POLICY (ESPECIALLY AS IT RELATES TO COLD WEATHER) BEFORE FINALIZING YOUR ORDER.
